Műszaki információ: In some models from Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Ford, Opel and
Volvo, oil loss on the camshaft sensor connector is
not uncommon. Due to the capillary effect, the oil can
infiltrate the harness to reach the control unit and
eventually cause electronic failure and damage to
individual parts. As this is a design-related fault,
this cannot be rectified by replacing the sensor. Such
damage can be prevented with the Herth+Buss oil-stop
cable. Fine copper sleeves have been incorporated into
the lines of the oil-stop cable in order to prevent
the oil from spreading. These have subsequently also
been wrapped in heat-shrink tubing.
